Jacqueline Hinckley’s clinical training is as a medical speech-language pathologist, but as a researcher and current faculty member her research skills focus on comparative effectiveness research, knowledge transfer, and implementation science. Her research career began when she sought to compare the outcomes of intensive rehabilitation for neurologic communication disorders to nonintensive treatment, and then to an activity-focused treatment to an impairment-focused treatment. She has led two PCORI Engagement Awards, both of which focused on integrating the capacity and engagement of individuals with communication disabilities into the research that affects them.
