Jamie Roberts has a Master’s degree in Bioethics and health policy with a focus in the ethics of phase 1 oncology research and end-of-life care. She also has a Master of Public Health with a focus in health communication and education. Roberts is a nurse who has worked in clinical research for the past 15 years. Since transitioning from bedside nursing to clinical research, she has been a people-centered outcomes research champion, recognizing very early on that if we want to engage people in participating in research, then we need to be conducting research that is important to them and that would have an impact on their health or the health of their families in meaningful ways. It is incredibly gratifying to watch the clinical research enterprise pivot toward patient-centered outcomes research. Roberts elected to become a PCORI Ambassador a few years ago to join the community of people who have dedicated themselves to seeing that research is conducted in a meaningful and scientifically rigorous way.

Ambassador Interests

Health Conditions Health Conditions These are the broad terms we use to categorize our funded research studies; specific diseases or conditions are included within the appropriate larger category. Note: not all of our funded projects focus on a single disease or condition; some touch on multiple diseases or conditions, research methods, or broader health system interventions. Such projects won’t be listed by a primary disease/condition and so won’t appear if you use this filter tool to find them. View Glossary
Populations Populations PCORI is interested in research that seeks to better understand how different clinical and health system options work for different people. These populations are frequently studied in our portfolio or identified as being of interest by our stakeholders. View Glossary
