Jennie Bowen, MPH, is a Program Officer with the Research Synthesis team at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). In this role, she identifies areas for research that are aligned with PCORI’s strategic direction, and provides patients and caregivers with feedback that lends itself to clinical comparative effectiveness research. She also helps develop funding announcements, manages contracts, and evaluates research activities.
Prior to joining PCORI, Bowen was a senior research analyst at Thomson Reuters Healthcare, where she helped develop, implement, and evaluate worksite health promotion programs. She examined the health and productivity costs of employees’ health risk factors and common diseases, as well as the impact that health, safety, and productivity management programs have on employees’ health and workplace performance. Bowen has worked on quantitative and qualitative research projects and published on topics such as safety culture in hospitals, cardiac outcomes between men and women at the VA, and the design and impact of workplace health promotion programs.
Bowen received a BS in fitness and wellness management at Brigham Young University, and an MPH with an emphasis on social and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington.
