Katie Booth’s professional career has been centered around research and evaluation. It's easy as a researcher to get caught up in the excitement of a new study, new data, and new results, but it's important to remember the patients behind those numbers. Research would be impossible without patients and it is only fitting to acknowledge their contribution by making the research as responsive to their needs as possible. The outcomes that really matter are those that can affect the lives of people, which is why patient-centered outcomes research is so important. As a public health student working at a patient advocacy organization, Booth is constantly learning both new skills and subject matter knowledge.
