Kim McCleary is Director of Strategic Initiatives at FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute determined to remove barriers to medical progress. She leads key programmatic areas, including expanding patient engagement in the FDA’s assessment of benefits and risks for medical products, the valuation of medical innovations by various stakeholders, and coverage for medical products related to reimbursement and access. She also works with The Research Acceleration and Innovation Network (TRAIN), FasterCures’ network of patient-focused venture philanthropy organizations. Before joining FasterCures, she was president and CEO of the CFIDS Association of America. There, McCleary earned a reputation as an articulate patient advocate, a keen policy strategist, a diplomatic bridge builder, and a dedicated servant leader. She has worked with leaders throughout the executive and legislative branches to develop, implement, and oversee effective policy. McCleary has a BA in organizational communications and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
McCleary served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Patient Engagement from October 2014 - April 2016.
