Kimberly Martin
Epilepsy Foundation Central & South Texas – Staff Member
University of Texas Health Science Center Houston – Research Partner

Kimberly Martin, LVN, has served in several capacities at the Epilepsy Foundation Central & South Texas since 2002. She has had the opportunity to educate and support persons affected by epilepsy and has seen the devastating impact this unrelenting disease can have on their lives and their families’ lives. As the Assistant Director, she oversees the Outreach Epilepsy Clinics, Advocacy Services, Programs and Services, Quality Management, and Grants Management. She received a nursing degree from Temple College and has three decades of experience in direct patient care. Martin advocates for persons with epilepsy at the state and federal levels and serves on local, state, and national committees to ensure persons with epilepsy have a voice. She has had the opportunity to collaborate with a local university to submit a proposal as a patient partner and serves as a PCORI patient reviewer. PCORI is near to her heart; as a parent of a child with a chronic disease, nurse, and advocate, she values the importance of patients and caregivers taking an active role in research that is meaningful to them. She has been a PCORI Ambassador since 2012.
