Lidia Regino, BUS, is a community healthcare worker at the University of New Mexico (UNM) Office for Community Health. An advocate of healthy living and a diabetes educator for many years, Regino works with patients in the Latino community to help them understand how to manage their diabetes and make healthy lifestyle choices. She helped to develop the PCORI-funded diabetes project at One Hope Centro De Vida Health Center in Albuquerque. Regino continues to oversee the community and policy development aspects of the project.
Regino is also involved in developing policy initiatives with external partners, and a training program for faculty both medical and pharmacy, medical residents, medical and pharmacy students from UNM. She received her Bachelor of University Studies from the University of New Mexico. In 2013, she was named a New Mexico Public Health Association Public Health Advocate.
