Michael McNear headshot

It is Michael McNear’s goal to share the wealth of medical research support that PCORI provides, and he is excited to help address and advance their mission and goals. McNear has been a caregiver and advocate for a parent living with Alzheimer’s disease and a family member living with schizophrenia for many years.

His efforts have included speaking with Real Men Speak at Temple University to address medical and social disparities among men and women of color in underserved communities in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also a SIREN-Social Interventions Research & Evaluation Network 2021-2022 NRM advisor and panelist as well as a part of the National Patient Advocate Foundation. McNear participated in the Patients Insight Congress in Washington, D.C. from 2021 to 2022 and was also an expert by experience advisor and panelist from 2021 to 2022.

McNear partnered with the associate director of research and implementation for the Serious Illness Care Program at Ariadne Labs, a Healthcare Delivery Innovation Center at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In addition, he served as a key advisor for a Harvard medical research study.
