Michael Urgel, CCRN, CPHQ, is a Clinical Education Specialist for GE Healthcare, specializing in patient monitoring in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. His background experience is in trauma and cardiothoracic surgical nursing, having worked in various Magnet and academic healthcare facilities. His passion for top-quality patient safety and process improvement was demonstrated in the shared governance and practice councils he was part of, serving both as a leader and subject matter expert in his area of healthcare quality. Urgel is currently enrolled in the Master of Health Care Innovation program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, where he hopes to learn ways to create and design solutions for addressing the various issues affecting the US healthcare system.
