miran bhima

Miran Bhima is a current undergraduate student at Duke University on the pre-medical track. At Duke, he conducts research with the Duke Cancer Institute and takes part in pertinent patient-focused coursework with the Duke Health System. As a heavily involved community member, he serves on boards and committees with the Durham County and City governments and does independent research on community health implications of policy. He also is involved with Partnerships for Healthy Durham, a program started by the Durham Public Health Department and Duke Health, in which he serves on the Access to Care Committee and Healthy Housing Committee. In addition to pursuing a Nursing Assistant Certification, volunteering in the hospital system, helping community-based organizations disseminate pertinent research findings and being involved at many levels of hospital systems, Miran is excited for a role as a PCORI ambassador. As an ambassador he is eager to get involved in sharing pertinent research findings and raising awareness about important research. Additionally, he is looking forward to immersing himself in the motivated and driven PCORI ambassador community.

Note: not all of our funded projects focus on a single disease or condition; some touch on multiple diseases or conditions, research methods, or broader health system interventions. Such projects won’t be listed by a primary disease/condition and so won’t appear if you use this filter tool to find them. View Glossary
Populations Populations PCORI is interested in research that seeks to better understand how different clinical and health system options work for different people. These populations are frequently studied in our portfolio or identified as being of interest by our stakeholders. View Glossary
