Moshe Shmuklarsky was on active duty as a medical doctor with the U.S. Army based at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) focusing on developing new drugs and vaccines of military relevance. For about eight years he was chief of the Department of Clinical Trials at WRAIR overseeing the development and implementation of over 40 Phase I, II and III clinical trials testing new vaccines and drugs. Some of the products developed are in the U.S. market today (e.g., Malarone, Tafenequine, Artemisinin). Shmuklarsky has an medical doctorate certified in internal medicine with training in clinical pharmacology. He also has a Master of Public and a Master of Business Administration.
