Philip Posner is a retired medical teacher and researcher. He is also an elderly patient with complex disorders as well as a caregiver and adviser for friends and families. He is an active advocate for the MS Society, the American Heart Association, and the Society for Neuroscience. He is also a member of the MS Government Relations Committee as well as the WMATA Accessibility Advisory Committee. He serves as a patient reviewer for PCORI, CDMRP, and the FDA. He holds a PhD in Medical Sciences.
Posner was a member of the Advisory Panel on Clinical Trials' Subcommittee on the Standardization of Complex Concepts and their Terminology.
