Richard Sutphin
The West Virginia Rural Health Association - Staff Member
Richard Sutphin’s interest in patient-centered outcomes research comes from his training in public health and health services research. His interests are in building capacity in rural communities to enable better shared decision-making and helping to disseminate patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) and comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) to rural providers. Specifically, as the Executive Director of the WV Rural Health Association, Richard is uniquely positioned to help rural communities in West Virginia benefit from the work that PCORI is currently funding. Richard’s motivation for becoming an Ambassador came from his participation as a stakeholder in the PCORI Strategic Planning Session for West Virginia.
