Roberta Tovey, PhD, is a writer, editor, teacher, and MoodNetwork's director of communications. As director of communications and patient partner at MoodNetwork, she has played a leading role in planning and developing the website, as well as publicizing and marketing the network in both print and online publications. As an independent contractor for over 20 years, Dr. Tovey has written and edited articles, presentations, book-length manuscripts, and website copy on subjects ranging from health and education to business and the environment.

Her clients have included the Sierra Club, the New Republic, WGBH, the Harvard Education Letter, and the Harvard Health Letter. Prior to her career as a writer and editor, Dr. Tovey was an assistant professor at Clark University, where she taught literature and journalism. She received her Ph.D. in British literature from Princeton University.
