Sabina Gesell currently leads the patient and stakeholder component of COMPASS, a large, pragmatic PCORI-funded trial. In her role, she is responsible for engaging a wide range of stakeholders across North Carolina. She has been engaging community members in participatory research for 20 years, in both industry and academic settings. She began her career in research and development at Press Ganey Associates, a firm focused on improving the patient experience, where she directed multisite studies on the patient and provider perspective on healthcare delivery in various care settings. She has been the principal investigator for four community-based health behavior change interventions, in such settings as hospitals, clinics, and schools in collaboration with community partners.

Health Conditions Health Conditions These are the broad terms we use to categorize our funded research studies; specific diseases or conditions are included within the appropriate larger category. Note: not all of our funded projects focus on a single disease or condition; some touch on multiple diseases or conditions, research methods, or broader health system interventions. Such projects won’t be listed by a primary disease/condition and so won’t appear if you use this filter tool to find them. View Glossary
