Silvia Ferre

Silvia Ferre is an accomplished translational researcher with 12 years of experience in academic medicine and medical biotechnologies with a primary research focus on chronic kidney disease (CKD), mineral metabolism, cardiovascular disease and clinical genetics. In her current position at the National Kidney Foundation, she is responsible for developing and leading strategic partnerships with health systems, the pharmaceutical industry and patient advocacy groups to accelerate access to efficacious new drugs for kidney disease. More specifically, Ferre lead the first nationwide kidney disease patient registry in the United States (NCT05497518) that links the patient voice on patient experiences with clinical and laboratory data from electronic health records. In collaboration with multiple study sites and global pharma sponsors, Ferre works on real-world evidence generation strategies using the registry’s data to improve understanding of the epidemiology of CKD, advance clinical trial implementation and develop value-based kidney care models that align the needs of patients, providers and healthcare plans.
