Tami Brown has been involved with PCORI since its inception, as a Merit Reviewer, then a Mentor, and, for the past two years, as an Ambassador. She is thrilled to be a part of the PCORI family and continue its mission. Brown cofounded the International Foundation for Autoimmune & Autoinflammatory Arthritis, which helps those affected by autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases with arthritis as a major clinical component. The foundation uses the strength of patient voices to impact education, advocacy, and research. It also implements a “global network” philosophy in all it does by collaborating with other stakeholders. The foundation learns a great deal from PCORI, and Brown continues to put those lessons to use. The notion that we are all part of one big global network and that we all need to be sharing our information and resources in order to improve healthcare and research for the future is what motivated her to become a PCORI Ambassador.

Health Conditions Health Conditions These are the broad terms we use to categorize our funded research studies; specific diseases or conditions are included within the appropriate larger category. Note: not all of our funded projects focus on a single disease or condition; some touch on multiple diseases or conditions, research methods, or broader health system interventions. Such projects won’t be listed by a primary disease/condition and so won’t appear if you use this filter tool to find them. View Glossary
Populations Populations PCORI is interested in research that seeks to better understand how different clinical and health system options work for different people. These populations are frequently studied in our portfolio or identified as being of interest by our stakeholders. View Glossary
