Vandana Dronadula
Global Healthy Living Foundation - Staff Member
"Vandana Dronadula was motivated to join the PCORI Ambassador Program in order to address how research is being done by partnering with researchers, leading engagement initiatives, and engaging with healthcare stakeholders and to combine her previous experience in public health and research. She has had multiple experiences in clinical research at the Hospital for Special Surgery, where she was involved with various rheumatology studies and learned about such patient-centered studies, IRB paperwork, and recruitment. In this role, Vandana was involved in rheumatology research projects, specifically surrounding arthritis and lupus, and called patients to explain clinical trials and summarized studies and sent questionnaires to patients. She researched and looked into the relationship between lupus patients’ frailty and telomere length, as well as contacted patients from the hospital’s arthritis database to confirm their status and inquire if they want to be on the HSS registry. Vandana also has previous qualitative and quantitative research experience in other fields where she has worked with a lab team of professors and lab technicians and also conducted literature reviews. Specifically in the field of public health, she conducted data entry and analysis at Qatar's Federal Ministry of Public Health."
