Vincent Del Gaizo is the father of a systemic onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis patient diagnosed in 2001 at 15 months of age. For the past 12 years, he has been actively involved in the field of pediatric rheumatology research, directly contributing the patient voice and perspective to research initiatives in these rare diseases. He was a founding member and past Chair of Friends of CARRA, a nonprofit organization established to promote needed research and awareness of pediatric rheumatic conditions. Friends of CARRA has since merged with the Arthritis Foundation. Vincent is Co-I of PARTNERS, a PCORnet patient powered research network in pediatric rheumatic diseases. He regularly attends scientific meetings for CARRA, a non-profit research organization of pediatric rheumatologists. Vincent is a study team member for numerous research projects providing the patient perspective and engagement strategies. He also is a frequent presenter at various annual meetings. He earned a BS from Rennsselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Del Gaizo served as a member and co-chair of the Advisory Panel on Rare Disease from Fall 2015 - Spring 2018.
