Yewande Akinbami, MD, MPH, is a Program Officer for the Clinical Effectiveness & Decision Science program at the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

Akinbami has more than a decade of experience specializing in epidemiology, biostatistics, and clinical trial project management. She oversaw the design, coordination, and implementation of multicenter research studies covering the spectrum of observational cohort studies to randomized clinical trials while working at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the School of Public Health. She served as a senior research program manager at the Center for Clinical Trials, managing and coordinating several multicenter clinical trials at more than 25 research institutions that make up the Airways Clinical Research Centers supported by the American Lung Association and funded by several sponsors, including the National Institutes of Health.

Akinbami holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
