This project aims to produce and implement a professional continuing education course on Medscape’s platform, providing CME/CE credit for physicians and nurses that outlines the principles of patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR), describe current research efforts, and summarize ways this research is being incorporated to change patient care. Titled Patient Centered Outcomes Research And My Practice: What Clinicians Need To Know, this video-based roundtable will feature perspectives from multiple research and translational science experts from among Research!America’s membership. Learning objectives include: describe the role of patient-centered outcomes research in the current healthcare landscape; identify opportunities for providers to engage in PCOR efforts; propose strategies for incorporating PCOR findings into clinical care and patient engagement. The long-term objective is to have participants gain affinity for PCOR, become motivated to seek out PCOR guidance, and actively implement this guidance.
The projected output from this project is an online professional education module in the form of a live-action, roundtable panel discussion aimed at clinicians, CME/CE certified and disseminated online on our professional site.
Project collaborators include Research!America.
