Project Summary

The overarching goal of the project is to build an infrastructure through which we can create opportunities for co-learning between members of a marginalized community and clinical and research communities in order to identify needs, priorities, and research questions of relevance to improving mental health and reducing disparities among a rural, low-income population. The primary elements of the infrastructure will include: 1) the formation of a multidisciplinary advisory board, consisting of service-users from our organization, relevant staff members, the project lead, and consultant; 2) a series of four community forums focused on mental health and health services; and 3) the DREAM Symposium, which will bring together diverse stakeholders including representatives of the Haven community and the research and clinical communities.
