Project Summary

The Learning Healthcare System Networks Project (previously called the People-Centered Communities) will develop four pilots based on Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center's successful learning network model. The learning network model supports the design, development, and implementation of data networks.

These pilots, selected from PCORnet Phase II Patient-Powered Research Networks (PPRNs), will be designed to develop communities of people, clinicians, and institutions that leverage PCORnet resources to improve health outcomes through quality improvement and robust research. The project will provide funding and technical assistance for pilot PPRNs to plan and implement programs that pursue the Learning Healthcare System model as a central strategy. It will also help create a collaborative learning community designed to assist networks interested in evolving toward the Learning Healthcare System vision.
