Project Summary

Faith Works Connecting for a Health Community is a diverse partnership team comprising cancer screening–eligible and cancer surgery patients, faith-based and community-based organizations, researchers, and medical personnel. The team, a collaborative in the bi-state area of Kansas and Missouri, aims to address cancer disparities through continued recruitment, engagement, and dedicated training to develop strong comparative effectiveness research (CER) questions. Tier II activities will involve an academic-style CER academy where current and prospective members will engage and also learn the basics of CER and how to apply it to addressing colorectal cancer among African Americans in the Midwest.
