Project Summary

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is commissioning an interactive Evidence Map on the topic of treatments for early-stage prostate cancer, the second most common cancer among men. The purpose of the Evidence Map is to provide a visual overview of the evidence concerning the benefits and harms of different treatment options for early-stage prostate cancer. Evidence maps commissioned by PCORI are being developed as pilot projects to gain experience in this emerging form of evidence synthesis. Additionally, this project included a methods study comparing a traditional systematic review approach with review-of-reviews and semi-automation as strategies to update evidence.
