This project adds to PCORI's continued efforts to advance these partnerships between PCORnet network partners, including more than 100 health systems, and the payer community. One aspect of this partnership involves establishing linkages between claims data obtained by payers and electronic health record (EHR) data collected during routine clinical care within PCORnet health systems.

In this project, Healthagen, an affiliate of Aetna, will contribute to the PCORnet demonstration study, ADAPTABLE, a prospective randomized trial that is studying the effectiveness and safety two aspirin doses used to prevent heart attacks or stroke among patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The team at Healthagen will provide claims data to support researchers’ capacities to ascertain outcomes among study participants.
