Project Summary

View Topic Brief

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols are interventions that aim to improve recovery after surgical procedures. In 2019, PCORI commissioned a topic brief on ERAS protocols relevant to vascular surgery to understand the breadth and quantity of existing evidence on this topic to support funding decisions for future comparative effectiveness research and evidence synthesis.

The goal of the topic brief is to identify key ERAS strategies relevant to vascular surgery; provide an overview of clinical practice guidelines, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled trials that assess ERAS; and highlight evidence gaps.
