Project Summary
Epilepsy is more common in children than in adults, with several unique childhood-onset epilepsy syndromes. Despite its prevalence, limited research exists on infantile epilepsy. In 2019, PCORI commissioned a topic brief on infantile epilepsy to understand the breadth and quantity of existing evidence on the topic to support funding decisions for future comparative effectiveness research and evidence synthesis.
The goal of the topic brief is to identify key management strategies for infantile epilepsy; provide an overview of clinical practice guidelines, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled trials that assess infantile epilepsy; and highlight evidence gaps.
