Project Summary
Ablation is a treatment strategy that aims to restore normal sinus rhythm and reduce symptoms for patients with atrial fibrillation, a common heart arrythmia. PCORI is commissioning a topic brief on ablation for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. PCORI seeks to understand the breadth and quantity of recent evidence on ablation strategies to support funding decisions for future comparative effectiveness research and evidence synthesis.
The goal of the topic brief is to identify key ablation strategies; provide an overview of clinical practice guidelines, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled trials that assess ablation for atrial fibrillation, and highlight evidence gaps.
