Project Summary
The main goals of the Northwell Health Systems Implementation Initiative (HSII) Building Capacity activities are to enhance the health system’s data infrastructure and processes as well as standardize its implementation strategies and approaches to ensure the rapid deployment, scale and successful evaluation of future HSII implementation projects.
In examining the system’s preparedness for conducting system‐wide implementation activities with stakeholders, Northwell Health realized that robust understanding of the current data available to support project evaluation, as well standard data collection using standardized evaluation templates, was uncommon. Further, many of Northwell’s previous implementation activities used differing processes, communication and resource access. By creating centralized and standardized processes and resources, Northwell will strengthen its ability to conduct and evaluate future HSII implementation projects effectively.
Specifically, Northwell Health will focus on improving its system understanding and approach to data lake data sets and processes and develop standard operating procedures and standardized project evaluation templates to support future use. In addition, they will create an intranet hosting technical assistance resources, clinical performance audit and feedback dashboards, communication channels for all stakeholders and HSII implementation toolkits to optimize their implementation approaches. The Quantitative Intelligence, Program Evaluation, Biostatistics, Enterprise Digital & IT Services and Science Informatics & Data Infrastructure cores will be responsible for Enhancing Data Structure capacity-building activities. The Clinical Strategy & Development, Implementation & Dissemination and Science Informatics & Data Infrastructure cores will be responsible for the Standardizing Implementation capacity-building activities.

About HSII Capacity Building Projects Funding for HSII Capacity Building Projects was the first funding opportunity available under HSII, to support HSII Participants’ efforts to prepare for successful implementation and program evaluation as part of HSII Implementation Projects. Through HSII, HSII Participants will undertake implementation projects to actively advance the adoption of new evidence, drawn from PCORI-funded research, into their care delivery settings. |
