The objective of this study was to (1) determine the effect of an engagement interview on acceptance of treatment for depression; (2) compare the efficacy of sertraline versus cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for depression symptoms among patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) receiving hemodialysis.
